    A Message from the Director:

An email was sent out to all students on 3/26/2020

The Institute of Health Sciences is continuing to work with local, regional, and national educational agencies to address the COVID-19 pandemic academic crisis in the United States. The Institute of Health Science will continue the suspension of all educational clinical rotations at hospitals for the next semester, however the material will be provided to the students by lecture, audio-visual and videoconferencing systems that meet the competency material that is required by accreditation agencies and Federal Financial aid.

At the end of the semester, we will  resume student clinical rotations within the hospital setting assuming that the clinical learning environments are conducive for student learning outcomes. We know that the transition to online teaching for clinical laboratory courses at the start of a semester is a challenge, and we are committed to providing the necessary resources to equip all students for success in this mode of delivery.

Due to the increased spread of the corona-virus throughout the United States, we have decided to make the following changes, effective for the following semester : February 17, 2020 until Monday, May 10, 2020:All clinical classes will be moved online ; Clinical course content and instruction will be moved online and classes will meet remotely based on the curriculum. Coursework has  been adjusted by the faculty to meet the competency standards for clinical rotations and all Accreditation Agencies and US Federal Financial Aid.

Students will be contacted this  week to begin the process of reviewing the curriculum that will be applied by faculty to provide instruction.

We strongly advise that students who do not have computers with audio/video capability to notify their instructors.

The School will hold a "Town Hall" meeting with all faculty and students during the next week. Invitations will be sent to your email address

Please keep a close watch on your email over the next few weeks to make sure you receive all material.

We are planning the school  will proceed normally under the guidelines described above during this semester. Additional information about the impact to other school operations will be communicated to staff in a separate memo. We ask that students assess their capability of working remotely during the period defined above and promptly notify your instructors of any  issue.

We will provide regular updates to these plans over the coming weeks. Well in advance of the next semester, we will announce the plans for the remainder of the school year. It is our intention to continue our clinical rotations as soon as the hospitals allow non-essential personnel to
resume their internship. The clinical rotation courses that will be given online this semester meet all standards for accreditation and academic competency.

This action allows the student to continue in their quest for a quality education without interruption. Regular updates and additional information on the schools response to the COVID-19 outbreak will be available within your course management curriculum.

    Sincerely,

Richard L. Trader MMsc PA-C FCCM
    Director
