Last night we had a Town Hall Meeting to introduce Gil Solano as our new Program Director.  He holds a BS degree and is a R. EEG T.  He has been an instructor for us in the past. Tala Ralph is also a R. EEG T. and was also introduced as a new faculty member.  She is a previous IOHS graduate from November 2025. She is working on an Associates Degree.  Both of these new faculty members bring instituional knowledge about our program and can help you on many levels. Tala will primarily help us get back to our "live" presentations.  Many students shared in the survey that they wanted some in-person interaction to help solidify their learning.  They get immediate feedback in these live sessions.  Attached is the link to the recording from last night. Our meeting was addressing Professionalism in the Workplace, but we also surveyed the group on topics they wanted and  times they wanted etc. The group did think day and night lectures times would cover a broader swath of students.  They thought using the ppt presentations during a live session would also allow  instructors to stop and explain, use the white board etc.  They also thought reviewing the previous week quiz questions would be good to.

This Site News note is going out to the fourth quarter students as well.  Next week I will include you in the invitation.  We plan to follow the second quarter topics to include the "normal EEG", Polarity, Filters, Montages, so there is plenty of opportunity for you to review and solidify your knowledge.

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Gil Solano R. EEG T as the new Program Director for the Neurodiagnostic Technology Program.

Gil brings a wealth of experience in clinical neurophysiology and education to our team. Having previously served as an instructor here at IOHS, he possesses an in-depth understanding of our courses, our Moodle learning environment, and our commitment to student success.

Gil is eager to begin working with you, and he will be focusing his efforts on supporting your academic journey, enhancing our clinical partnerships, and providing new opportunities for student engagement. We look forward to the leadership and vision he will bring to our program as we continue to support your goals in the Neurodiagnostic field.

Applying for a student membership with ASET - The Neurodiagnostic Society is straightforward, but it requires specific documentation to prove your student status.

Step 1: Verify Your Eligibility & Cost

To qualify for a Student Membership ($58/year), you must meet one of the following criteria:

• Enrolled in a formal neurodiagnostic education program.
• Participating in an institutional, formal on-the-job (OTJ) training program.

💡 Note on Timing: ASET memberships run on a calendar year (January – December). If you join mid-year, dues are pro-rated (e.g., April–August is usually around $44). If you apply between October and December, your dues will cover the remainder of the year plus the entire following calendar year.

Step 2: Prepare Your Required Documentation

ASET requires proof of your student status. Before applying, obtain a signed letter on official letterhead from either:

1. Your school's Program Director (confirming your enrollment).
2. Your institution's OTJ Training Supervisor (confirming your trainee status, your employer's name, a brief description of your training, and your learning objectives).

You will need to upload or attach this letter to your application.

Step 3: Choose Your Application Method

Method A: Apply Online (Fastest)

1. Go directly to the ASET Membership Page.
2. Scroll down to the Student tier and click Join Now (or go to the ASET Student Hub).
3. Create a new user account if you don't already have one.
4. Fill out your personal details, career stage, and school info.
5. Upload your signed Program Director/Supervisor letter when prompted.
6. Submit your payment via credit card.

Method B: Apply via PDF Form (Mail, Email, or Fax)

If you prefer not to apply online, you can use their official paper application:

1. Download the Individual Student Membership Application PDF directly from their portal.
2. Fill out your personal information and check the box corresponding to the current quarter/date you are joining.
3. Provide your credit card details on the form or enclose a check/money order drawn on a U.S. bank.
4. Submit the completed application form along with your supervisor/director letter via one of these routes:

 I have provided your name and email to ASET so you will probably not have to submit the letter confirming you are enrolled in an END program.  Darla and I have worked together for a couple of years now so this will not be necessary.
