John Archibald MA, R. EEG/EP T. was a committed educator in the
neurodiagnostic field prior to his death in 1995 from metastatic brain cancer.
While in the late stages of his illness, John designed the Scholarship to focus
on encouraging neurodiagnostic students attending accredited training
programs to explore educational opportunities. The scholarship includes
registration fees for the student to attend the ASET Annual Conference,
along with a stipend of $500 to cover travel and hotel expenses.
In the spring of each year, the application packets are distributed to the
program directors of CAAHEP accredited neurodiagnostic programs.
Students must be ASET members to be eligible to apply. The winning
student must be able to attend the entire three-day ASET annual conference,
and the award will be presented to the student during the Awards Luncheon.
We encourage you to use this pathway to attend our annual conference and
discover more about how much ASET can impact your future as a
neurodiagnostic professional.

ABRET Exam Scholarship

The ASET Foundation is pleased to announce that we are assisting ABRET to administer a new scholarship program offering scholarships to help with the cost of ABRET credentialing examinations for R. EEG T., R. EP T., CLTM, CNIM, CAP, CMEG, and NA-CLTM. These scholarships are for exam candidates with demonstrated financial need.

Two scholarships will be awarded every quarter through the ASET Foundation and are available for both US and International candidates. The quarterly deadlines are: March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 30th.

The award will cover the examination fee and include a 3-month subscription to the ABRET Self-Assessment Program (ASAP), and a one-year membership to ASET – The Neurodiagnostic Society. ABRET will waive the exam registration fee for scholarship recipients. No cash awards or refunds will be issued. Scholarship applicants who take the exam before recipients are announced will forfeit eligibility.

Interested parties should evaluate their eligibility for the scholarship as outlined on the ABRET website, complete the online application, also on the ABRET website, and follow all instructions for submission by the stated deadline.

To All Students,

The American opportunity tax credit (AOTC) is a credit for qualified education expenses paid for an eligible student for the first four years of higher education. You can get a maximum annual credit of $2,500 per eligible student. If the credit brings the amount of tax you owe to zero, you can have 40 percent of any remaining amount of the credit (up to $1,000) refunded to you.

The amount of the credit is 100 percent of the first $2,000 of qualified education expenses you paid for each eligible student and 25 percent of the next $2,000 of qualified education expenses you paid for that student.

To be eligible to claim the AOTC or the lifetime learning credit (LLC), the law requires a taxpayer (or a dependent) to have received Form 1098-T, Tuition Statement, from an eligible educational institution, whether domestic or foreign. Generally, students receive a Form 1098-T, Tuition Statement, from their school by January 31.

The Institute of Health Science will be issuing 1098T's by the deadline of January 31st They will come in two ways...an email from Greatlands where we have them processed and printed.  Please check your trash or spam as Greatlands may not be in your contact list.
